| 内容記述 | Walter Lippmann, a remarkable columnist, published The Good Society in 1937．In this book, he maintained that fascism and communism, both of which he called colletivism, are the same in essence, and criticized them because their nature is preparation for waging total war, Seeing the events in 1930s，he was anxious about the rise of collectivism, including the New Deal, and insisted on the importance of true liberalism for good society. He thought that liberalism is an American ideology．The State Department had the same thought of some of Lippmann's to counter fascism and communism and to enlarge the U.S. influence the Western Hemisphere． | |||||||||
