| 内容記述 | This article examines the substantial and convoluted history of the world’s largest and longest running teacher exchange programme. Throughout the 33 ― year history of the JET Programme there have been both detractors and advocates for this immense government policy that involves three different government ministries and a pseudogovernment agency esponsible for the day to day running of the programme. This article examines the policies and government offices responsible for the creation of the JET Programme and how it has evolved over the course of three decades. From its modest beginnings with 848 participants from four countries in 1987 to almost 6,000 participants in 2019 from 57 countries, the JET Programme is now a global phenomenon. | |||||||||
